"R" Is for "Reject"

My new year's resolution for 2011 is to get rejected more. Specifically, I plan to get a rejection letter from one literary magazine for every letter of the alphabet: AGNI, Brick, The Chattahoochee Review, and so on. I have a head start, having already been rejected by these fine people:

Blue Earth Review
Glimmer Train (twice)
McSweeney’s (twice)
Narrative
Opium (twice)
Our Stories
Quick Fiction
Superstition Review

I'm currently awaiting rejections from Water Stone Review, which will give me a nice W, and Black Warrior Review, which I had already submitted to before remembering that I don't need a B. I also have an excess of O's, and I briefly contemplated collecting rejections that will spell out dirty words instead. For example, once I get rejected by Black Warrior Review, I can spell BOOBS. But I really want the whole alphabet.

My one problem is that I don't know of any journals that start with X. If it comes down to it, I may have to start my own and reject myself.

Re: Black Warrior Review and having too many Bs.

You could always do a color spectrum list.

And huzzah! http://www.xula.edu/review/index.php

Xavier Review! I just googled the first X that came to mind and look: Arts and Humanities!

""NOTE ON E-MAIL SUBMISSIONS: Unsolicited e-mail submissions are NOT accepted.
Exceptions to this rule include: submissions from recent contributors to Xavier Review and submissions from foreign countries.
Also, we do NOT accept multiple e-mail submissions from anyone."
Manuscripts should not be sent without permission of the editor."

Easy rejection criteria.

Don't ever say that I'm not supportive in your efforts to better your life.

This post makes me miss you so much.

I love this idea. Especially the dirty words.
